If you watch Dancing with the Stars, you are probably wondering what some of the stars are doing on the show. Leeza Gibbons? Really? I still haven't forgiven Billy Ray Cyrus for the achy-breaky heart. And, really, who was scarier--Shandi Finnessy or her partner?
Okay, so you might also be wondering why Clyde Drexler is still there. I'll tell you why....ME! Just tonight, I've voted for him 45 times! Okay, I voted as my Studmuffin 18 of those times--but still! And I'm mobilizing my co-workers to email in votes tomorrow. True, he's not the best dancer there but here's the thing: it doesn't matter.
Really, what are the stakes for this show? A disco-ball trophy. Woo-hoo. They don't win money--as if they needed money. And they are celebrities (well, some of them are) so, really, I don't care if they are embarrassed or not since they are so far out of my realm of reality.
If you think that this show is about talent, then you have missed the boat. It's all about popularity! Yes, Joey Fatone is a good dancer but John Ratzenberger was Cliff Clavin! And there is only Clyde the Glide. EYE-an can dance all he wants, but really, it's all about the tall guy for me.
