I'm not a political person in that I don't belong to a political party and I don't have signs up in my yard. Okay, I don't have a yard--but if I did, I wouldn't put up any signs. I don't have any political bumber stickers and I don't donate money to anyone.
That being said, I really love presidential elections! I love them in the way that I love baseball (although not as much as I love baseball since, frankly, the stakes are a lot lower if you stand by a loser in baseball). I love watching people try to win the public over, to try and be mean while looking nice, to grapple with questions made horribly painful only by their earlier answers. Then Hollywood comes out and they all think they are relevant to all this and get all upset when the other 99.9% of the nation just rolls their eyes at them. This stuff is great!
Well, it's starting up again. As for where I am right now, I've identified two candidates I could vote for--one for each party (I really hope that they don't both get the nominations of their respective parties, that would make things hard for me when it comes time for me to sit on my couch in my pajamas and vote) and one candidate that I absolute refuse to vote for because, frankly, I think this candidate may actually be truly evil.
And, no, I won't tell you who any of these candidates are because, unlike a Hollywoodian, I honestly believe that other human beings have brains and can figure out on their own who would best represent their views. And, frankly, if I told you, that would take some of the fun out of it.
Man, oh man, this is going to be a wild 18 months!
