As I said in an earlier post, I find great entertainment watching politicians try to win your vote. One thing I do like, are the silly "What are your favorite..." questions. As I find them, I'll post them here (with my comments, of course, in red).
Today, the question is "What is the last book you read?"
DEMOCRATS
Delaware Sen. Joe Biden: "Runaway Jury" by John Grisham.
To be quite honest, I think John Grisham readers fall into two categories: Those who read at a 3rd grade level and those who spend far too much time on airplanes. I'll give the senator the benefit of the doubt here....
New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton: "Team of Rivals" by Doris Kearns Goodwin
Suck-up
Connecticut Sen. Chris Dodd: "The Broker" by John Grisham.
See my comment on Joe Biden.
Former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards: "Exile" by Richard North Patterson.
I think Richard North Patterson may be a bit like John Grisham but, having never actually read any of his books, I probably shouldn't comment.
Ohio Rep. Dennis Kucinich: "Einstein's Dreams" by Alan Lightman.
Actually, this sounds like a good book...I might read it once I finish the other 940+ books.
Illinois Sen. Barack Obama: "Gilead" by Marilynne Robinson.
I think this won the Pulitzer or something...
New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson: "The administration's energy plan."
I bet this guy is fun to have at cocktail parties.
REPUBLICANS
Kansas Sen. Sam Brownback: "The Dream Giver" by Bruce Wilkinson with David and Heather Kopp.
I think I read a book called "The Dream Giver," but it was written by someone else.
Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani: "The Beach House" by James Patterson and Peter De Jonge.
I think my Studmuffin got this for his birthday....
Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee: "My oldest son's screenplay."
Well, at least it's honest!
California Rep. Duncan Hunter: "The Democrats' proposal to balance the budget."
Suck-up
Arizona Sen. John McCain: "A Farewell to Arms" by Ernest Hemingway.
I think McCain is reading from the same list I am.....
Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney: "Term Limits" by Vince Flynn.
You know, I'm not sure if he's trying to suck up or if this is just a really dull-sounding book.
Colorado Rep. Tom Tancredo: "An Inconvenient Truth" by Al Gore.
Suck-up

McCain better be farther on that list than you are.... Otherwise he's not going to make it.... :)
Studmuffin
