In light of the NCAA's enlightened decision that William and Mary's two feathers were an insult to humanity, I have some claims *I* would like to make against sports teams.
1. Notre Dame's Fighting Irish. As an Irish-American I am deeply troubled by Notre Dame's claim that we are all drunk brawlers (even if we are--okay, some of us. I neither get drunk nor brawl...at least that I can recall).
2. The Vikings and all school and professional teams who claim this mascot. I am also a Norwegian-American and it is a historical fact that Vikings did not have horns on their helmets. This is a 19th century invention that I find very insulting and I feel that all these teams and organizations, including my own high school, should immediately redesign their mascots and logos.
3. The Boston Celtics. As anyone who has graduated 9th grade knows that it is pronounced with a hard C (like Keltics) not "Seltics." Continuing the mispronounciation only further insults all of us drunk brawling Irish-Americans.
4. The Washington Redskins. After all, I can't see how "Redskins" cannot be considered hostile and abusive if two freakin' feathers are.

What??!!??! When did you make your resurgence back into the blogging world? I feel like Rip Van Winkle now, waking up to see that much time and many blog entries have passed me by. Oh, yeah, and what's up with all my sudden facial hair?
