The First Year

Guess what! One year ago today, I started this blog. Yes, believe it or not, I actually kept it up for a year. To celebrate, I thought it would be fun to put down some of the things I figured out this year.

• TV shows are TV shows. Get a DVR and go live your life.
• If you don't like where you are, go find some place else. It's not like you are chained up. (I guess this piece of advice doesn't apply if you actually are chained up!)
• If you are dating someone because you think they are the best you can do, you're wrong
• Just because it's Arizona doesn't mean you'll have warm weather
• Trust your instincts. It took me a while (and one last bonehead relationship) to finally get this one. Your instincts are right.
• Ask the important questions and don't let others blow you off. If they blow you off, they have something to hide.
• Don't be with people who have something to hide.
• Starbucks is a great place!
• If 1 piece of pizza and 1 beer gives you heartburn once, don't tempt fate.
• Speaking of fate, don't fight it. It will all work out wonderfully in the end.
• Traveling by plane is much more fun when you can hold someone's hand!
• It's much better to have a handful of wonderful friends than a ton of friendly acquaintances.
• Asparagus actually can taste good!
• Always trust the guy who, on the first date, says, "You should date me and here's why" and then list some very good reasons. He's right!
