We had snow again today...not in downtown, but out where I live. I really don't like snow, at least not usually. Snow is fabulous when you are inside and you have no where to go and you have a mug of hot chocolate. Snow is fabulous if you are skiing or snowshoeing or whatnot. In any other situation, snow sucks.
For those of you not from the Pacific Northwest, you need to understand something about this part of the country. God loves us more than most and has blessed us with far less weather than most people receive. It usually doesn't get too cold and, if it does, it doesn't last long. It rarely gets too hot. It does rain a bit, but that just makes everything green and pretty.
The flip side, of course, is that when we get real weather everyone FREAKS OUT! It's the end of the world, cars are sliding everywhere, the radio is full of school closures, it's all gloom and doom on the local news. Really, I don't know how we survive these times!
I am lucky, though, since I have my Studmuffin to drive me around. (I think EVERYONE is lucky for that since I'm not the best driver on dry pavement, much less that with a film of slush on it). And I'm lucky that I live in the Pacific Northwest, where the snow will be gone by the time I get home tonight.
A bit of truth:
"Climate is what we expect; weather is what we get."

Got a little snow up in Redmond yesterday and this morning too, although Seattle somehow was untouched. I woke up to about half an inch at my place, but some co-workers got as much as 9 inches. I just want to know where all this global warming is that Al Gore keeps promising me.
