Pointless question to ponder....
When did the Geico Gecko become British? He always used to be a good, home-grown gecko and now he's a high-falutin' brit. And why British? Do they even have Gecko's in Britain? I know they have them in the US...my parents regularly find gecko corpses floating in their swimming pool. Lovely.

I'm a bit surprised myself, especially with "Mad Cow" news resurfacing...
And what's wrong with being a Brit anyway?? ;-) you might find small lizards in the Devon/Cornwall area but not sure what type they are. Oh, and to me the accent is a common lower class southern/cockney type and not very high-falutin at all.
Okay, I stand corrected on the high-falutin' part. But still, THERE ARE NO GECKOS in Britain! Really! I looked it up in Wikipedia. There are, however, apparently geckos in parts of France. There's you useless trivia for the day! :-D
OMG I hadn't even thought of that. You should notify Giekom they may not be aware of their obvious mistake :)
As long as they don't have him doing a lame Austin Powers imitation, I'm okay with the accent.
Yeah, baby. Yeah!
I keep seeing that ad and wondering why and how that company (I have no idea what the ad is actually for... I'm an advertiser's nightmare, I can always remember every detail except for the actual product they're trying to sell you) came to the conclusion that a cockney-accented gecko was what they needed to fill people with confidence in them. Very strange. And stranger still to discover that the gecko has only recently become cockney... hmm.
Oh... thank you for the comment (and the plug! and the link!)... love your blog, have just spent the better part of the afternoon reading all your posts while the tequila-recovery continues. I like the idea of listing blogs you've stumbled across - I might try that!
Oops, meant to add... looking at your blog reminded me, I've been meaning to work out how those little map things are done... am off to investigate!
