So, remember my first post (or so) here. If you didn't read it, don't take the trouble to look it up. I was in a very serious mood then. Anyway, in the post, I mentioned that I was going to go speed dating that evening. I did--it was a free event which was excellent or else I would have been out of money for nothing! There was, oh, one normal guy with whom I, unfortunately, felt no connection whatsoever. The other guys included: someone who was a good 15 years older than the high end of the age range, his friend (who was far too old to be a slacker), a former pornography photographer, a guy who--well, how should I put this--had what I considered an unnatural interest in chick flicks for a supposedly straight man and a guy whose every sentence contained the phrase, "my mother." So, yeah, it wasn't what one would consider a successful evening.
Last night, though, I gave it another try. This time I went with the better of the 2 speed dating companies in town--and I paid money--and I have some friends who actually had success with this company (back in Pennsylvania). So, I went. And, strangely enough, it was a good time. All of the guys where contributing members of society and I actually put down I was interested in talking some more with a number of them.
Here's the thing...I still don't know if I have any matches! The one bad thing about this company is that you give your matches to the coordinator and they manually put them together and then they send out the results. I'm still waiting! If I have matches, that's great. If I don't, not biggie. But I'd really like to know either way!

Sounds interesting! I'd love to try something like that but my wife gets all "upiity" when I suggest it (JUST KIDDING!!!).
I am so excited to see how it turns out...you can bet I'll keep tuning in for this. All the best on the waiting game.
Wow, that's torture(sp?)!
So, the match results finally came in. Ugh..the only match was with the one I was really so-so on! Oh well...the manhunt continues!
Anticipation is tough, but then so is constipation. I hope that you receive word of a match with someone you've picked out too.
Just for luck, I'll add a rousing chorus in my best voice:
Matchmaker, matchmaker, make me a match, catch me a catch, find me a find. Inspiring, no?
I tried that once in Boston. I think it's more of a crap shoot than online dating. It was a good time but no one really caught my eye. I'd stick with online dating for some better results.
